A patient shares their experience: A personal insight into dental treatment

Teeth are a true marvel of nature – covered with enamel, the hardest substance in the human body. However, even this protection is not indestructible. Tooth decay can develop unnoticed, and often, it is only during a routine dental check-up that one realizes treatment is necessary.

Medical history

In March 2021, I suddenly experienced severe tooth pain. Unfortunately, this sensation was not unfamiliar to me, as despite my thorough oral care, my teeth are highly prone to cavities. A prompt visit to the dentist was unavoidable. The diagnosis was sobering: Decay had spread beneath an old filling, reaching the dental nerve and infecting the root canal. This caused intense pain – especially when eating warm foods or biting down.

Treatment

To immediately relieve the pain, my dentist recommended removing the affected dental nerve as the first step. This was followed by a root canal treatment to preserve the natural tooth for as long as possible.

Additionally, three other cavities needed to be treated to prevent further damage. The corresponding images can be found at the end of this article.

Choice of material

As a patient, you rarely think about dental filling materials – if at all, usually only in relation to amalgam fillings. However, when a material remains in the mouth long-term, its compatibility becomes an important topic.

SAREMCO develops and manufactures biocompatible restorative materials that are particularly well tolerated. They can be a beneficial choice, especially for allergy sufferers, but are also used preventively in non-allergic patients.

Hinweis

Mein Behandlungsverlauf umfasste drei Termine:
