Innovative approaches in restorative dentistry: a case study

A recent case study by Dr. Enzo Attanasio and dental technician Daniele Rondoni addressed complex dental issues in Quadrant 2, including infiltrated amalgam restorations and a carious lesion. The treatment required precise planning and strategic steps to ensure optimal dental health restoration.

The process began with removal of the old amalgam restorations to accurately assess the extent of the decay while preserving as much healthy tooth structure as possible. A highly filled thixotropic composite was used for the direct restoration of teeth 2.5 and 2.7. In similar cases, products such as saremco els composite also provide excellent results.

Due to insufficient residual cusp thickness on tooth 2.6, full cusp coverage was required and saremco print CROWNTEC was used. Advanced optical impression and cementation techniques were used to achieve seamless and effective results.

This case illustrates the importance of a precise and individualized approach to restorative dentistry. With the right materials and techniques, both esthetic and functional results can be achieved.
